Our Mission
Our mission is to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed care and support to survivors of sexual assault and trafficking across diverse communities. We advocate for survivors' healing, empower them to reclaim their lives, and hold perpetrators accountable.
What We Do
Avalon Healing Center offers a range of services to meet the diverse needs of survivors:
Immediate Support
- Crisis intervention and emotional support
- Medical-forensic exams for sexual assault
- Advocacy and accompaniment through the legal and medical systems
- Crisis hotline and online support
Healing & Recovery
- Individual and group counseling
- Trauma-informed therapy and healing programs
- Support groups for survivors of different experiences and identities
- Advocacy for survivors' rights and access to resources
Community & Advocacy
- Public awareness campaigns and educational workshops
- Community outreach and partnerships
- Advocacy for systemic changes to prevent sexual violence
- Support for LGBTQ+ survivors and survivors of human trafficking
Empowerment & Education
- Training for professionals and first responders
- Educational resources and support groups for survivors and communities
- Advocacy for policy changes and increased funding for sexual assault prevention and services
