At Uncommon Therapy, we understand that seeking mental health treatment can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. That's why our founder, Larry Moen, LPC, is dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment for individuals to navigate their mental health concerns.

With over 25 years of experience in the field, Larry Moen has successfully worked with clients dealing with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, PTSD, and more. His unique approach to therapy sets him apart from other providers, as he focuses on working collaboratively with each client to identify the root causes of their struggles and develop personalized strategies to overcome them.

At Uncommon Therapy, we recognize that every individual's journey is unique, and our approach is tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. We believe that our brains are not malfunctioning, but rather, they are simply trying to help us navigate life's challenges. Thus, our therapy sessions are designed to empower clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognize their strengths and resilience, and cultivate a more mindful and compassionate relationship with themselves.

Our practice is situated in a conveniently located, wheelchair-accessible office in Fairbanks, Alaska, and we offer online sessions for those who prefer a more flexible approach. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM, and we accommodate clients with varying schedules. We also offer brief, free consultations to assess whether working together feels right for you.

Our Services

Insomnia Treatment Program

In addition to our general therapy services, we also offer a specialized treatment program for chronic insomnia. This program utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address the underlying psychological and behavioral factors contributing to insomnia. Our treatment program includes a comprehensive assessment, personalized therapy sessions, and relapse prevention strategies.
