I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S) with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and groups navigate the complexities of modern life. My journey in the field of mental health began with a deep desire to assist people in finding greater comfort within themselves and their relationships. After obtaining my Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, I further honed my skills by completing a certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice from New York University. I am also proud to serve as an adjunct associate professor in the clinical graduate program at the University of Texas Steve Hicks School of Social Work, sharing my knowledge and experience with aspiring social workers.
My professional path has been marked by diverse and impactful experiences. I have worked in a variety of settings, including Shoal Creek Hospital, Austin State Hospital, SAFE and Urban Pathways in New York City. These roles allowed me to work with a wide range of individuals and families facing a spectrum of mental health challenges, from mood disorders and trauma to substance abuse and homelessness. Through these experiences, I developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the human experience and a strong commitment to providing compassionate and effective support.
Now, in my private practice, I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to healing and growth, and I strive to create a collaborative and empowering environment where clients feel heard, understood, and validated.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in the belief that each individual is unique and deserves a personalized approach to healing. I tailor my interventions to meet the specific needs and goals of each client, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy.
I view therapy as a process of self-discovery and growth. Together, we will work to identify patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back, explore the underlying causes of your struggles, and develop healthy coping mechanisms to navigate life's challenges.
My goal is to empower you to build a stronger sense of self, improve your relationships, and live a more fulfilling life.
