Our Team
Our team of licensed clinicians is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds and specialties. Our team includes licensed professional counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and certified professional life coaches. We believe that each individual has a unique story to tell, and we strive to create a therapeutic environment that honors and respects each person's experiences and perspectives.
Our Services
We offer a range of therapeutic services, including individual, couples, and family therapy. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, and we draw upon various theoretical orientations, including eclectic counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. We also offer specialized services, such as play therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), to help individuals work through complex emotional and psychological issues.
Our Faith-Informed Approach
At Canterbury Counseling, we believe that faith and mental health go hand in hand. We recognize that faith can play a crucial role in the healing process, and we offer faith-informed counseling services that integrate the wisdom of faith teachings with the principles of behavioral sciences. Our clinicians are experienced in working with individuals from various faith backgrounds and are sensitive to the unique needs and concerns of each client.
Our Grading Scale
We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health services, regardless of their financial situation. Therefore, we offer a sliding scale fee structure based on income and family size. We also accept most insurance providers, including Medicare and private insurance plans.

Therapist Quality and Professionalism
The reviews highlight a mixed bag of experiences with the therapists at Canterbury Counseling. On the positive side, some reviewers praised the kindness, knowledge, and support of certain therapists, such as Nicole Felkel and Andrea Helm. However, others had negative experiences with therapists like Emily Odom and Nicole Felko, citing unprofessional behavior, lack of qualifications, and unhelpful approaches.
Cancellation Policy and Billing
One reviewer, Mary Brophy, was particularly dissatisfied with the cancellation policy at Canterbury Counseling, which she found to be unforgiving and punitive. She was billed for a session she didn't attend due to circumstances beyond her control, and felt that the policy was unfair.
Impact on Mental Health
The reviews also highlight the significant impact that therapists can have on clients' mental health and well-being. While some reviewers reported positive outcomes and improvements in their mental health, others reported feeling harmed or misunderstood by their therapists. In one case, a reviewer reported feeling "sickened" by their therapist's behavior, and reported that it had damaged their relationship with their daughter.
