Restoring Integrity, One Life at a Time
Ebenezer Counseling Services is a Knoxville-based practice dedicated to providing high-quality counseling and mental health services from a distinctly Christian perspective. Our team of professional counselors, therapists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists are committed to delivering compassionate, grace-filled care to individuals, couples, and families. Restoring Integrity
At Ebenezer Counseling Services, we are committed to restoring integrity to the counseling profession. We believe that counseling should be a safe, trustworthy, and transparent process. We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and providing our clients with clear, straightforward information about our services, fees, and policies.
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled. However, we ask that clients provide us with at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling an appointment. This allows us to offer that appointment time to another client who may be waiting for an opening.
For New Clients
We are always accepting new clients and would be honored to walk with you on your journey toward healing and growth. To schedule your first appointment, please call us at (865) 670-0988 or visit our website to learn more about our counselors and services.
Portal Access
As a convenience to our clients, we offer a secure client portal where you can access forms, make payments, and communicate with your therapist. If you need assistance setting up your client portal, please contact our office.
TeleHealth
We are proud to offer TeleHealth services for clients who prefer to receive counseling from the comfort of their own home. TeleHealth is a secure, confidential way to receive counseling services via video conferencing. To learn more about our TeleHealth services, please visit our website or contact our office.
Accessibility Issues
The authors of two reviews raise concerns about the accessibility of the facility. Susan Smartt notes that neither of the facility's buildings has adequate ramp access, with steep steps that are difficult to navigate. The staff tells her that there is a way around back, but doesn't make it easy to find.
Poor Counselling Experiences
Three reviews express disappointment with their counselling experiences at Ebenezer Counseling. Alexus Sands felt disrespected and unheard by their counselor, who yawned and watched the clock during the session. Ashley Marie reports that her counselor, Josh, allowed her husband to talk for 37 minutes without interruption, then interrupted her when it was her turn to talk. He also called her manipulative and gaslighted her, leading her to feel hopeless and walk out. MaCayla Davis has had a positive experience with her counselor, Gretchen Fromke, who is friendly, empathetic, and scripture-based in her approach.
Exceptional Counselling Experience
On the other hand, two reviews praise the facility for providing exceptional counselling. Kerri Thompson notes that the staff is "caring and compassionate" and describes Ebenezer Counseling as a place where people can go to talk. MaCayla Davis also raves about her experience, saying that the facility has been a "blessing" and that her counselor is amazing. She praises the staff for their friendly and empathetic approach.
