Counseling Connections is a group of independent therapists with diverse but complementary backgrounds and training, located in Wyndhurst, just west of Lynchburg, Virginia. Our team of therapists is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families to address their mental health concerns.
Our Therapists
At Counseling Connections, you will have the opportunity to work with two experienced therapists, Susan Wilson, LPC, and Amy Spangler-Dunning, LPC, Mdiv (Masters of Divinity). Susan has extensive experience in working with individuals, couples, and families, and has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Amy brings a unique perspective to her practice, combining her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling with a Master's in Divinity, and has a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

Telehealth Services
We are committed to making our services accessible to as many people as possible. That's why we offer telehealth services, allowing clients to participate in therapy sessions remotely. Most insurance companies now cover telehealth services, and our therapists are experienced in using online platforms to conduct sessions.

About Our Therapists
Susan Wilson, LPC, has over 18 years of experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. She has extensive training in trauma-focused therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and is certified in these modalities. Susan draws from a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness practices.
Amy Spangler-Dunning, LPC, Mdiv (Masters of Divinity), has a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Master's degree in Divinity. She has experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and is passionate about helping clients move forward from their past experiences. Amy draws from her training in trauma-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and attachment theory.
