Welcome to Jessi Huffman Counseling, LLC! I'm Jessi Huffman, a licensed professional counselor offering virtual therapy services across the state of Oregon. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, non-judgment, and a deep respect for the unique experiences and identities of each individual.

My Philosophy & Approach

I believe in the power of therapy as a collaborative journey towards self-discovery and growth. My aim is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable exploring your concerns and uncovering your inner strength. I draw on psychodynamic theory, working alongside you to uncover unconscious patterns and develop new coping mechanisms. Additionally, I integrate mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems theory, and somatic approaches to offer a holistic and individualized approach to healing.

My Background & Experience

My path to becoming a therapist was driven by my own experiences of trauma and the need to empower others who have been marginalized and stigmatized. I have worked in diverse settings, including residential care facilities, hospitals, and community agencies, witnessing firsthand the devastating impact of mental illness in our society.

I have a deep passion for working with individuals from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and those grappling with systemic oppression. I also find immense joy in supporting artists in their creative pursuits, recognizing the parallels between the anxieties and creative expressions within various disciplines.

Beyond Diagnoses & Labels

While diagnoses are necessary for insurance purposes, I challenge the limitations of labels and the pressure they can impose on individuals. I believe in recognizing the human experience behind every diagnosis and emphasize the importance of considering the social, political, and ecological factors influencing mental well-being.
