At Serenity Concepts, we are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals seeking mental health and substance abuse services. Our practice was founded on the principles of serenity and healing, incorporating elements such as nature, aromatherapy, music, and a lending library to promote a sense of calm and well-being. Our team of eight therapists brings a variety of specialties and experiences to offer personalized care to our clients. From individual therapy to group sessions, we provide a range of services including ASL play therapy, psycho education, and substance abuse assessment and treatment.

Our Therapists

Each of our therapists is dedicated to ongoing education and training to ensure they are equipped to address the unique needs of our clients. Below, you'll find brief bios of our team members. Steven Johnston, MA, PCC-S, has over 19 years of experience in clinical counseling, with special training in pastoral counseling, gerontology, and marital counseling. Michaele Barsnack, PCC-S, has provided art therapy and counseling since 1982, with a background in art and education. Debra McSheffery, LISW-S, has over 31 years of experience in clinical social work, with expertise in mood disorders, PTSD, and addiction. Marc Schramm, PsyD, has a diverse practice, focusing on clinical psychology.
