Our Services: Holistic Approach to Mental Health

At Rapid City Counselors, we understand that mental health is an integral part of a person's overall wellbeing. Our team of licensed mental health professionals offers various counseling services, including:

1. Family Therapy: We believe that healing and growth are possible for all families, regardless of their structure. Our family therapists work with blended families, split families, traditional families, and foster and adoptive families to foster understanding, empathy, and open communication, promoting a stronger, more connected family unit.

2. Individual Mental Health Counseling: Our mental health counselors work individually with clients to identify and address the challenges they face. Through one-on-one sessions, we help our clients set goals, develop coping strategies, and find resolutions, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

3. Couples Counseling: Effective communication is the cornerstone of a healthy relationship. In couples counseling, we provide a safe and supportive environment for couples to express their thoughts and feelings openly, enabling them to strengthen their bond, resolve conflicts, and deepen their connection.

4. Faith-Based Counseling: We believe that spirituality can play a significant role in the healing process. Our faith-based counseling combines spiritual guidance and mental health theories to help our clients find peace, healing, and a deeper connection with their faith.

5. Child Play Therapy: Play is a child's natural medium for self-expression. Our certified play therapists provide a safe and nurturing space for children to express their emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and foster emotional resilience through play.

6. EMDR Therapy: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven to help people recover from trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, and stress.

7. EFT - Tapping: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a powerful stress-relief technique that involves tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on negative emotions or thoughts. This technique helps reduce the intensity of distressing emotions and restore balance to the body's energy.

Positive: The positive reviews highlight the professionalism, compassion, and flexibility of the staff, as well as the comfortable office environment.
Negative: The negative reviews, however, highlight issues with administrative practices, lack of support and guidance, unresponsive office, and poor performance.

Disappointing Experience

Ashten Rombough's review is a disappointing experience with Rapid City Counseling. She was referred to the office for sensitive coparenting issues and needed guidance on navigating a difficult situation involving her child and coparent who has a medical diagnosis. Although the office visit was helpful, Ashten felt frustrated with the lack of support and guidance after the session. She was left with no help unless she went through her coparent, which didn't want to participate in counseling.

Positive Experiences

Collin Leir, Aleah Georgilas, and Amber S. all had very positive experiences with Rapid City Counseling. They praised the professionalism, caring, and compassion of the staff, the ease of scheduling appointments, and the comfortable office environment. Collin has worked with the team for over 5 years and has found them to be fantastic. Aleah was impressed with the variety of counselors available and the helpful receptionist. Amber's daughter benefited from the play therapy sessions and was able to cope with feelings in a healthy way.

Unsatisfactory Experience

Passion Justice had a very negative experience with the office's administrative practices, calling them unethical, unprofessional, and disorganized. They also received spoofed phone calls and felt stressed by the poor performance.

Unresponsive Office

Jennifer Stiles had trouble getting through to the office for an appointment, leaving messages with no response. After four months, she received a call asking if she still wanted to be on the waiting list. Another reviewer, Jade Emeline, had issues with payment plans and felt the office was money-hungry. They also experienced technical difficulties with video chat and felt the counselor was poorly trained.
