Dr. Joe Terhaar, our founder, is a nationally recognized expert in family intervention and family addiction recovery. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies, he has been a NIDA funded researcher in family intervention and has worked as a national/regional trainer in addictions. He is also a nationally published author in addictions and has served as a court expert witness in addictions. Dr. Terhaar is a certified interventional professional and has been featured on the national radio show "Overcoming Addiction: Hope with Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment" on Voice America Radio.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of services designed to help families navigate the challenges of addiction. Our drug intervention services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each family and the loved one struggling with addiction. We use 15 strategies of intervention, matching the approach to what the family and the individual need. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-confrontational environment for everyone involved.

Our family recovery program consists of three components: family therapy sessions, treatment philosophy, and getting into treatment. In our family therapy sessions, each person in the family, and the family as a whole, receives the support to develop new and healthier ways of living and growing together. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes early intervention and the importance of family support in the recovery process. We believe that the family has the power to get their loved one into treatment and that this process should be guided by love, respect, and understanding.

Instead, we use a variety of strategies, including invitation and non-confrontation, to help the family address the issue of addiction in a loving and supportive manner.
