Welcome to Sheila I. Kapur Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting, where we are dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families overcome emotional and mental barriers to achieve personal integrity and enhance their quality of life. As a licensed independent social worker, I, Sheila Kapur, have spent years honing my skills in individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as training and working in various mental health settings.

My Background and Experience

With over 10 to 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of working in various settings, including OSU Harding Hospital, Columbus Suicide Prevention Hotline, community mental health agencies, a charter high school for inner-city teens, and a residential home for troubled adolescents. I have also had the opportunity to train and work alongside other experienced mental health professionals, further refining my skills in individual, couples, and family therapy.

My Approach

As a strengths-based practitioner, I believe in empowering individuals to develop personal integrity and build resiliency. My approach is centered around helping clients overcome emotional and mental barriers, while promoting healthy coping mechanisms and self-awareness. I draw upon my extensive education and training in mental health, law, mediation, and administration to provide comprehensive and tailored services to each client.

Services Offered

At Sheila I. Kapur Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting, we offer a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of our clients. These services include:

• Strengths-based therapy and coaching to help individuals, couples, and families develop personal integrity and enhance their quality of life
• Treatment for mental, emotional, and psychological disorders, including depression and anxiety
• Evidence-based practices such as EMDR, CBT, psychotherapy, and solution-focused services
• Mediation services for divorce, separation, and co-parenting

Certifications and Licensure

I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the same institution. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the State of Ohio, with licensure number I 1000349. Additionally, I hold certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Wellness Counselor/Holistic Health of Mind & Body.

Insurance and Fees

I accept the following insurances: Aetna, Cigna, Medical Mutual, Medicare OH Plan B, United Behavioral Health, and United Healthcare. Private pay clients are also welcome to work with me. My fees are as follows:

• Individual intake and assessment: $125 (60 min)
• Individual regular session: $100 (45 min) / $125 (60 min)
• Couples/family intake and assessment: $150 (60 min)
• Couples/family regular session: $125 (45 min) / $150 (60 min)

Parking is available in the back of the building, and you can enter through the back door on the north side of the building. Office hours are by appointment only.
