As a licensed professional counselor, I, Kevin Lemieux, have had the privilege of serving individuals, couples, and families in my private practice since 2006. My approach to counseling is rooted in the philosophical framework of Client-Centered Therapy, which emphasizes the inherent capacity of each individual to find constructive solutions to life's challenges.

Our Philosophy and Approach to Counseling

I believe that our emotional and mental health is deeply connected to our ability to acknowledge and express our emotions, move towards social interest, and strive for self-worth in love, work, and life. When our experiences and internalized beliefs become disconnected, our mental health suffers. Counseling provides an opportunity to re-align our perception of ourselves and incorporate our feelings into our reality. Through a non-judgmental and empathetic environment, I aim to offer a sense of safety, respect, and acceptance to each client.

Our Services

As a licensed counselor, I am committed to providing a range of services to cater to the diverse needs of my clients. These services include individual therapy, couples counseling, family therapy, and group therapy. My expertise in trauma counseling, grief counseling, and conflict resolution enables me to address the complex issues that bring individuals and families to counseling. I also provide education and training in integrating spirituality with therapy, a unique approach that acknowledges the intricate relationship between spirituality and mental health.

Education and Training

I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from George Fox University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Throughout my educational journey, I have undergone rigorous training in individual and group therapy, marriage counseling, and psychopharmacology. I have also received additional training in trauma counseling, grief counseling, and conflict resolution. These extensive educational and training experiences have equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide comprehensive counseling services.

Professional Boundaries

To maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity of our therapeutic relationship, I do not acknowledge our counseling relationship outside of the counseling context, unless initiated by the client. I also maintain professional boundaries by avoiding social and business relationships with clients, recognizing that any formal or informal connection could potentially compromise the therapeutic process.

Fees and Insurance

I charge $150 per 50-minute individual session and $45 per 1-hour group session. For clients with insurance coverage, I can facilitate direct billing to the insurance company. Please note that you are responsible for any balance unpaid by insurance. In the event of a missed session, a cancellation fee may apply.

Client's Bill of Rights

As a client, you have the following rights:

• To expect that your counselor has met the minimal qualifications of training and experience required by state law.
• To examine public records maintained by the Board and to have the Board confirm credentials of your counselor.
• To obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics.
• To report complaints to the Board.
• To be informed of the cost of professional services before receiving services.
