Poor Experience with Office Management
Amy Liza Williams shares her disappointing experience with the Office management at Flourish, where she started therapy in February to manage health issues resulting from a brain injury and sepsis. Due to a cyber security breach, her insurance claims were not processing, and she was requested to pay $2000 for pending sessions out of pocket. The office manager, Jill, informed her that she would be cut off from further therapy appointments until the balance was paid in full, was told to find alternative providers with a six-month waiting list, and was given a 90-day payment plan option.
The author describes the conversation with Jill as "accusatory, condescending, argumentative, tone-deaf, insensitive, and gaslighting." The tone was verbal abuse, and the conversation felt unprofessional, showing a lack of care, concern, or adherence to the mission statement. The author had to end the call and request all future communications be in email format to document the conversation.
Poor Communication and Unprofessional Behavior
The experience highlights poor communication and unprofessional behavior from the office management team, particularly the office manager Jill. The author felt disrespected and frustrated by the lack of empathy and understanding shown during the conversation. The office's billing policy and handling of the situation were neither explained nor understood by the author.
