Our Story
Founded in April 1993, Genesis Counseling & Psychological Services is committed to providing comprehensive counseling and therapy services to individuals, couples, children, and families. Our experienced and compassionate staff is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for our clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services to meet the unique needs of our clients, including:
- Individual Counseling: A collaborative effort between you and your counselor to assess resources, develop goals, and work towards healthy change. We believe that individual counseling can help individuals overcome hindrances in life, sort through overwhelming feelings, and reduce stress.
- Couples & Marriage Counseling: A safe and supportive environment to explore what's working and not working in your relationship, build upon existing strengths, and adjust unhealthy patterns of interaction.
- Family Counseling: A tailored approach to address the complex issues and patterns within families. We believe that family counseling can help family members understand their unique contributions to the system and work together to develop new strategies for living more effectively.
- Christian Counseling: A biblically-based approach to counseling that integrates faith and Scripture with psychological theory and research. Our Christian counseling services are designed to help individuals navigate life's challenges while staying true to their faith and values.
Our Staff
Our team of caring and experienced professionals is committed to providing exceptional service to our clients. Meet some of our staff members:
- Neal Boliou, Psy. D.: A licensed psychologist with over 30 years of counseling, consulting, and assessment experience. Dr. Boliou has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Patricia Boliou, M.A., LPC: A licensed professional counselor with a specialization in educational and career guidance, interpersonal boundaries, women's issues, and creative parenting strategies.
- Lisa Paternoster, M.A., LCPC: A licensed professional counselor with 10 years of experience in counseling and 17 years of experience in business management. Lisa has a specialization in work environment and stress management.
Our Location
Genesis Counseling & Psychological Services is located at 1327 S. Five Mile Road in Boise, Idaho. Our clinic is conveniently situated north of the intersection of Five Mile and Overland, west across the street from the US Post Office.
Getting Started
When you call Genesis Counseling at 375-7777, you'll receive a return call from one of our counselors who will answer any scheduling questions you may have. We understand that seeking help can be a daunting task, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
Ineffective Communication
Some reviewers experienced difficulties in getting in touch with Genesis Counseling, citing instances of unanswered calls, unreturned voicemails, and lack of responses.
