Our Practice
Our hearts, minds, and bodies tell the stories of how we are experiencing the world around us. Debbie Mauger, MA, LMHC #8763
I truly believe that life experience can be one of our very best teachers. I believe that insight and wisdom are born out of personal experience and the intentional, contemplative process of self-discovery in the context of relationship. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I desire to create a holding space for the individuals, the couples and the families that I have the privilege to sit with. It is important to me to hold our time together and the space to be curious about the who, the what, the why, and the how of my client's experience, the impact of the experience, and what conclusions and vows he/she may have made as a result. To be fully known by another, with unconditional positive regard is the beginning of the healing process. I have been incredibly blessed over the past 18+ years with the opportunity to hear the stories and to experience the hearts of so many people as they engage their journey of wholeness and healing. My professional training has been primarily focused on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy based on Attachment Theory and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, most effective for those who suffer from intense emotional dysregulation. As a result of my personal experience with ruptures and repairs in 40+ years of marriage, raising 4 children, and being the primary caregiver for family members through the dying processes of Alzheimer's and cancer, I not only bring my professional training and experience but everything that I have learned from life's teacher.
Education & Certification:
- Reformed Theological Seminary 2003 Masters in Counseling / Licensed Mental Health Counselor 2005 / Created Journeys Counseling Center 2005 / Clinical Supervisor 2005 to present.
- Continuing Education: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, DBT / Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EFT / Completed 4 Day EFT Externship

Angela Davis, MA, IMH #24338
Angela believes that people are formed and changed through relationships. Through them, we develop patterns and ways of relating that can both harm us but also enrich our lives. However, most of us live very full and fast-paced lives with relatively few quiet places to intentionally process the struggles that stem from those relationships. Angela believes in the importance of journeying into painful places where her clients feel stuck. She provides a safe and non-judgmental space to help clients uncover the reasons they are suffering and collaborates with them to develop a plan to move toward healing. Angela enjoys working with individuals, couples, and groups. She has special interests in working with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, relational struggles, spiritual burnout, parenting struggles, life transitions, career guidance, grief, and trauma.
Originally from Mississippi, Angela holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Before moving to Florida, Angela worked on staff with Cru for 14 years on several college campuses in the United States and overseas. She is married to Jim, a local pastor, has 4 children, and speaks for Family Life's Weekend to Remember conferences.
